The MoD, the Armed Forces and The Trust
In 1994, the MoD, the Armed Forces and The
Prince's Trust decided to work together. Our partnership was
formalised in February 2005.
Over the last 12 years, the MoD & Armed Forces combined have
provided over 1,400 temporary team leader secondments to The Trust
across the UK. This partnership has been a huge and lasting
success, helping thousands of disadvantaged young people to
transform their lives.
"Not only do military staff gain key skills such as
leadership, communication and team-building, but the many young
people on the programme are also given opportunities to gain
valuable life skills and achieve their own personal and social
development."

How our partnership works
The MOD and the Armed Forces provide leadership and advisory
secondments to The Trust's various programmes, adding great value
in the development of life skills for everyone involved:
- Leadership secondments focus on the highly successful Team
programme - a 12 week personal development course that over 8,000
16-25 year olds take part in every year. Team operates from
over 307 locations using 103 delivery partners nationally.
- Advisory secondments are tailored to a specific Trust and MOD/
Department/ Service unit need. These involve a longer, but
part-time commitment from personnel and material support.
- MoD and Armed Forces personnel who complete the Trust's
training can work towards nationally recognised teaching
qualifications and gain invaluable experience working with young
people who face considerable barriers in life.
