Prince's Trust Programmes

The Trust delivers a number of core programmes across the UK. The majority of programmes are delivered to NEET young people aged 16 to 25.

The Prince’s Trust is a charity that believes in young people who often don’t believe in themselves. We seek out those young people that need our help the most and work with young people who struggle at school, are in or leaving care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. We work with young people aged 14-30 to help them get back into work, education and training.

We also involve young people in the design and evaluation of programmes. Our programmes include engagement activities, progression support and peer mentoring.

Most Prince’s Trust programmes include accreditation opportunities but our experience is that, for the young people we support, accreditation is less important than engagement, confidence, life skills and personal development – these are prerequisites for achieving a formal qualification:

Enterprise Programme

The Prince’s Trust Enterprise Programme supports unemployed young people aged 18-30 to work out if their business ideas are viable and whether self-employment is right for them.

Depending on the outcome of this process, the programme can then offer mentoring support and, for those that really need it, financial support to start a business or mentoring support to secure goals in employment, education or training.

Community Cash Awards

Cash awards up to £3,000 for young people to design and set up projects on a voluntary basis that will benefit their local community.

Development Awards

Cash awards of £50 - £500 for young people to access education, training or work.
